Keep Showing Up

Keep Showing Up

Hi, I'm Liz Moser, and I’m a Mayo Clinic Certified Wellness Coach.

Today I want to discuss the importance of showing up. I remind my clients all the time: keep showing up because things are happening whether you know it or not.

Things are happening, whether you know it or not.

Just. Keep. Showing. Up.

Similarly, James Clear, author of Atomic Habits, says:

“It doesn’t matter how successful or unsuccessful you are right now. What matters is whether your habits are putting you on the path toward success.  You should be far more concerned with your current trajectory than with your current results.

Our healthy daily habits are the most important way we show up for ourselves.

Think about it; we don't know what the tree will look like that will grow from the seed we plant today.  But we know for sure we won't have a tree in the future if we don’t plant that seed.

So, when you show up for yourself by keeping your wellness commitments, those daily habits put you on a path towards your healthiest self.

Or, showing up creates a trajectory that leads to success.

It takes faith and perseverance to keep showing up with your healthy habits when you aren't getting the results you want, but, hey, what's the alternative? Just like trees come from the seed planted today, you at your most well self derives from your daily habits.

On the other hand, maybe you see some success, but your healthy routines are slipping,  if that’s the case, I’d suggest you take an honest look at where your current habits are taking you.  What’s your trajectory?  Are you heading up?  Or down? Is it time to make some preemptive course corrections?  I don’t know, maybe.

So, let me ask you:

  • Are you more concerned with your current results or with your current trajectory?

  • Will your current trajectory maintain your results or erode them?

  • What does showing up for your wellness look like to you?

Remember, keep showing up, things are happening whether you know it or not.

Bye for now! -Liz
