Does Competing Motivate You?

Some of my clients find a competition motivating while others internalize a competition as pressure. If you love to compete and the thrill of winning motivates you then please watch this video on what to keep in mind while you are going for the gold!

My Daily Supportive Habits: As Useful As A….Toothbrush?!

I think we all agree that daily teeth brushing equals healthy teeth. Pretty simple, right? Then why is it we have no problem accepting the support of some tools, like a toothbrush, yet at other times we reject assistance because we simply have to do it on our own? Check out this blog for my thoughts on that double standard.

A Wellness Coach's Perspective on Exercise

Many of my clients have the desire to improve their fitness and lose weight or simply stated they want to get in shape. And they are looking for my opinions on what they should do. They have questions about what is enough exercise, and the right program for them. This is where it gets tricky because even though I'm well versed in what the experts, such as the Center for Disease Control, and The Department of Health and Human Services recommend for exercise and I know how I exercise and what works for me. All that said, coaching is not about prescribing.

First thought, Second Thought, and First Action

When a challenging situation occurs and uncomfortable thoughts and feelings arise, we have a choice to reach out for support, look inward to our own wisdom or choose actions that don’t always align with our goals. We aren’t in control of our first thought; however, we are in control of our second thought and first action.

Gratitude Begets Service: Embracing your Inner Student and Teacher

Each week I write a blog and shoot a video. While I have the certifications that I worked very hard for and my personal experience in living an intentional, healthful life, I’m also merely another grateful lifelong learner, just like you. I’m both a teacher and a student, like all of us. In this video, I explore how a fulfilling life is one where we give and receive, where we experience gratitude and express service, where we are both teachers and students.

How to Stay Motivated

This week I achieved 1000 days without sugar, flour, or processed food. That’s a long time and a big deal for me! In celebration of that, I decided to share my top 9 tips for staying motivated while creating long term lifestyle changes.

How To Create A Better Morning Routine

I like to say to my clients whatever you do first in the morning gets done. Maybe that’s a bit simplistic, yet an organized morning routine filled with back to back self-care habits sets you and your day up for success.

Does Your Metabolism Rev Like a Race Car or a Golf Cart?

In last week’s blog, I shared what I eat on an average day, and several people remarked that it’s a lot of food. I agree I think I have an efficient metabolism, particularly for my age! This week, I thought I’d discuss some metabolism boosters so that you could get your engine revving more like a Ferrari and less like a moped!

My Typical Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

In last week’s blog and video (What Inspired My Lifestyle Choices), I discussed my journey that led me to my current nutritional lifestyle choice of eating no animal products, sugar, flour, alcohol, or caffeine. Last week’s blog was about what I DON’T eat, and I thought it would be fun and informative to talk about what I DO eat and show you how abundant and tasty my food is.

Today, Holidays and Cheat Days

The more you live a nourishing life each day, the less you want the special days or holidays to be any different than usual. Or the only difference needs to be that you want to spend more time with the people you care about most.

Diving into the Unknown

I’m curious, how are you diving into the unknown? With wings outstretched soaring like an eagle? Are you greeting it with excitement and positivity? Or are you facing it with anxiety and fear?

Proximity vs. Connection

In this blog, I explore the difference between proximity and connection and suggest that just because you are currently in proximity all day, week, month-long with your family doesn’t necessarily mean you are experiencing or creating genuine connections with your loved ones.

Watch Your Thoughts

Thoughts are powerful! They are the stone cast into the lake that creates multiple ripples. Those ripples are your words, actions, habits, character, and destiny.

Routine Creates Normalcy

Child psychologists suggest that parents create routines for their children because when the family has an established routine, normalcy is present in the kid’s life, no matter what is going on. A child finds calmness, stability, and love through elements of routine, such as family dinners or regular sleep schedules or storytime. With everything going on in the world, who wouldn’t want more calmness, stability, and love right about now?

Your Circle of Control

These are uncertain times. Many things are out of our control, and by dwelling on them, we increase our anxiety. Instead, in this video, I explore how we can refocus our energy on the habits under our control which ultimately leads to increased health and vitality.

What a Difference a Week Makes

A week ago, I was going to name this post: What do you look forward to? In that post, I explored how the evolution of ‘what we look forward to?’ reflects our learning and growth, and the discovery of our most whole selves. Now, a week later, whether you’re maintaining social distancing or self-shuttering at home, our first response to the question of ‘what do you look forward to?’, is hands down the health and safety of our friends, family and all human beings on the planet.

Kinder in 10 Weeks

Here I am, ten weeks after starting my Namaste Challenge of no caffeine, no TV, and increasing my meditation to 2, 20-minute sessions per day. My goal was to deepen my spirituality, my connection to my highest self, to create time and ease in my life, and hopefully become a more centered, intentional person.
